Carbide End Mills

End mills are used to mill large paths in the FR4 board material. For small insulation paths micro-Cutters should be used. The width of the cut is determined by the size of the end mill. We hold stock of End Mills ranging between 0.1mm diameter and 3.0mm diameter, all of which have a two flute geometry, 4 Flute as an option. Square End or Fishtail.

FR4 PCB material is highly abrasive and requires the use of specialist end mills, PCB Supplies provides the highest of quality End Mills made of high grade Tungsten Carbide which feature very high cutting performances whilst maintaining the tightest production tolerances.

We recommend that bits are fitted with depth setting rings. This will allow you to set the plunge depth stop on your drill press to a single value that will work for all bit diameters.

All of our bits can be purchased with or without rings. When ordering drills with depth rings, you may specify the depth ring position to suit your requirements.

Of interest to some, will be our ability to supply Nano Tools

Understanding Chip Load

A crucial parameter is chip load and its relationship to feed rate and spindle RPM

The width of the cut is determined by the size of the end mill. We hold stock of End Mills ranging between 0.1mm diameter and 3.0mm diameter, Running on 3.15mm 1/8" shanks

As with our PCB Drills, Our End Mills can operate at upto 80,000 RPM. You should run the mill as fast as possible whilst not exceeding the maximum rated speed. Plunge rate and dwell time should be adjusted to provide best hole quality and minimal burr.

Refer to the Technical Data Sheet for specific recommendations.

Yes, we offer a ring setting service. We can fit rings to your drills at the time of purchase. We will keep a record of your drill ring distances, so that upon re-order, we can set the rings to the same position. Review our drill ring setting page.

We do not offer this service.
