Who are we?

Crownhill is a privately held, independent company founded in 1994 by Lester Wilson and his wife Beryl. Originally working from a spare room, the company sustained year on year growth to break through $1M turnover in 1999.

Building on the deep and broad experience of the founder and the loyal employees, Crownhill pioneered in focusing its attention on embedded PIC microcontroller development tools and smart card design in the small and medium enterprise sector, well before both PICMicro®'s and Smart Cards became fashionable. What do we do?

At Crownhill, we work in a range of fields including electronic design and development, PCB prototyping and project consultancy. We specialise in designing unique electronic development systems, electronic components, smart cards and embedded microcontrollers such as the PICmicro®.

Through our work we have built up strong relationships with many organisations including Government Agencies in both the UK and the US, Universities, and Global Organisations such as Volvo, Ford Research, GPT, Philips, Orange, Vodaphone and Kenwood. Read More »
